What’s love got to do with it?

So my return to writing has to do with love.
Everywhere I turn it seems that love is the central topic.

It would seem that as a believer in Jesus Christ that I would be very good at expressing love. The truth is in this area I fail.

What you’re saying you fail?

Yep that’s what I’m saying I fall short of expressing love the way Jesus expressed love. All we have to do read 1st Corinthians chapter 13 to see that not only I fail but you fail too.

What?

I could quote the chapter here but I hope you would read it for yourself. It truly will change the way you view things.

Love is the oil that keeps the engine running smoothly. Love keeps everything cushioned so that damage will not occur. Love is a buffer between us and the outside influences. The very substance that sets us apart from crowd.

The old song, “All you need is Love” sinks in deep because Love is the motivation God had when He sent Jesus to give His life for us.

That is the kind of love I see expressed in 1st Corinthians chapter 13. An unconditional love.

Maybe I’m just writing for me but I truly think that it’s also for you. Everyone of us falls short. But do we want to admit it?

To quote another song, looking for love in all the wrong places brings to mind folks looking for love in an obvious place. I submit to you that the love that we all need is right inside of us.

Can we be that obvious place?

Can we be that reflection of his love?

Can we truly be Christlike?

I am going to post scripture here for you.

Ephesians 3:14-21
14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

That is my charge to me.

Will it be the charge to you?

Anyway that is how I see it…
